Pros

• The job itself was easy and straightforward. • Weekly pay was consistent. • Stocking was simple, and supplies were usually available. • Most employees were nice and easy to work with. • Free ice cream (until they suddenly decided to stop allowing it). •Mostly hardworking coworkers who worked together to get the job done

Cons

• Horrible management: Schedules ignored my availability, and new management caused chaos. • Unsanitary conditions: Roach problem that was never properly addressed, dirty mops, broken cleaning tools. • Minimal training: Employees had no idea what they were doing due to lack of proper training. • Frequent machine breakdowns: Equipment was old and unreliable. • Late openers with no consequences: I often had to wait 30-50 minutes for an opener to show up. • Inconsistent rules: We were allowed free ice cream, then one day it was suddenly banned without explanation. • Felt bad serving food: The cleanliness standards were so low that I was surprised the store wasn’t shut down. • Some coworkers slacked off: One girl was rude and sat on her phone instead of working.

Pros

-Great coworkers -Decent food -Awesome desserts -Fairly easy to operate fryers and ice cream machinery -Teaches basic math and customer service skills easily transferable to other jobs

Cons

-Rude customers (creepy old men, smokers, demanding/excessive requests, etc) -Entitled regulars (were up at 6 AM daily banging on the doors to be let in and several looked down on employees for working in fast food) -Ice cream bags and drink boxes were a pain to carry -POS system was ok to operate but got complicated at times (would overcharge customers or be difficult to find certain items) -Drive Thru system (headset and speaker) were a pain to operate, especially when customers whispered or when it was raining -Strict and hard to manage Drive Thru time requirements (maximum of 3:30) -Two managers were fired for stealing…
