Pros
The patients are the biggest plus. We also have the option to purchase inexpensive uniforms. No they are not given but purchased.
Cons
The health care cost and choices. The very expensive every pay cost and the 20% coinsurance...after the deductible is met, of course. It is NOT an insurance you want to have if you are sick or have an emergency come along. The fact that the company forces you to fill your prescriptions through the Cigna "pharmacy" or after 3 refills.....you will not be covered for prescriptions. Keep in mind the large chunk you pay every 2 weeks! The way that Davita's "rules" vary from clinic to clinic...often with in the same division or city! The facility administrators are praised when they come in at or below budget regardless of the way it was reached..the ends justify the means. The common practice to keep supplies well below what is needed forcing "teammates" to do the best they can as they routinely run out of...needles, bandages, bicarb, variety of acid baths, heparin and so on. The push to change from what was once part of policy and procedure....using bandage material and 2x2 to cover a permcath and now just slap on a 4x4 and some paper tape...in the past "teammates" had been educated that this was sub standard and not good for the patient's infection rates. The fact that upper management has NO CLUE as to how their clinics are actually being managed....
