Pros

- They will feed you on occasion - Paycheck and Heath Insurance if you need it - Employee recognition

Cons

Geez where do I begin....Davita is very dysfunctional in its on little way. They do a lot to cover the mess and when that doesn't work they just pretend thing aren't what they are. There are a lot of resources that go into managing how Davita is perceived. A lot of what is said and believed about Davita is very true. There is this big push that we are all friends, family and one big happy village. This is probably were the cult like whispers comes from. Don't be deceived, this is a ploy to discourage people from leaving and to trick people into thinking they are cared about enough that agree to whatever they throw at them without question. On my team we are silently excepted to participate in everything no matter what and sometimes that meant sharing hotel rooms at company functions or even being forced to go to team events out of town or after hours. If you manage to get on a good team your experience may be different but unfortunately good teams are far and in between. There are a lot of "Davita Lifers" who only know Davita and will probably only ever know Davita. The problem is, they have been doing things a certain way for a long time and will only do things that way. They aren't growing, they aren't changing and they aren't going anywhere. This has allowed a lot of unhealthy environments, practices and behavior to thrive. Unfortunately, Davita is too ignorant to see its wounds and honestly I thinks it too late. If you manage to stay here without quitting or being laid off you probably wont get a promotion without proving yourself first. This means staying here for years and running your self to the bone living the Davita way. Davita is very good at dangling carrots then ironically promoting the wrong people out of desperation. PTO accrues but not much until you have been here for 3 years. Holidays are deducted from your PTO bucket which is the same bucket for all of your time off. Health Insurance is a bit more expensive and work perks aren't constant or all that great. All in all if you decide to come here, I would use it as a stepping stone. Davita is almost too toxic to function and I'm not even telling it all. I wouldn't recommend working here and if you decide to I wouldn't plan on staying long.

Pros

Stable company to work for with great benefits. DaVita offers tuition reimbursement, so it pays to go back to school and get a degree. They also help with career advancement and development.

Cons

If you are new to dialysis, it may take a while to reach a decent wage. You are required to work 12 hour shifts, mostly on your feet, and managers will always look to add to your workload.

Pros

The local team was great. The FA was the best. She knows how to lead and to build a team. Helping the patients and their families was the best part. Knowing you were helping them improve their quality of life was very rewarding.

Cons

Upper management. All the executives care about is money. All management above the FA level was terrible. Always cutting your hours even though you were full time. People in charge that have absolutely no experience in healthcare. Management and executives who don't understand medicine and how healthcare works or should be. They bully, don't support, and try to find things to get you in trouble. They want the nurses to only use AI instead of thinking and doing what is best for the patients. When I started with DaVita, it was a great place to work. Since the business people took over at the top, it has gone downhill and is simply awful. I do not recommend working here.
