Pros
Large network of technically competent, cooperative individuals engaged across the energy industries and value chain.
Cons
In the UK, most folk don’t understand the organisation, how to network, or how to make money in consulting. Exposure to the oil and gas industry, the cost of being Norwegian, and barely break even margins (1 percent!) means that the remaining leadership (who benefited from all the good times) now tend over smaller patches and struggle to recognise and support anyone “from the outside”. I was let go at just under the two year mark after blowing the whistle to HR on an unprofessional manager, despite outperforming all peers by winning significant international work, which says everything about the insular shop that remains.
