Pros

The work you would be doing at DNM is very creative, and you get to work in some really neat places. For example during my time there I was fortunate enough to work up at the Ameristar Casino, up on the 38th floor of the Grand Hyatt downtown, and also in the small town of Montrose, CO. Most of the employees (that haven't been laid off yet) are amazing people, very genuine and friendly. It truly was my fellow employees that made going to work here not a total nightmare.

Cons

The two "owners" have a lot to work on if they want this company to be around in the years to come. They have been vocally against hiring women, overweight people, and will even bring these topics up to their employees that fit in to these categories. They are very self centered, and don't seem to understand that their employees are handling a large majority of the companies labor. There is ZERO organization. No assistant they hire into that position will ever be able to draft proposals on their own because there aren't any set prices in the booking system. When I was let go I was told it was for a whole bunch of reasons that were absolute lies. And a couple weeks later the main owner called me and let on that the actual reason I was let go is because I stood my ground when the other owner tried to call me in to work on a day he gave me the day off. Oh and just in case all of this isn't enough to deter someone from applying, there are no health benefits or anything. They will tell you in your interview that they are working on getting benefits, but I found out they told that to an employee who has been there for YEARS.

Pros

For many years my dream was to be a Certified Floral Designer AND work for an event company. And now, after many years in the Corporate world, I am doing what I love. My schedule is such that I am notified of events and I have the opportunity to see if it fits into my schedule. I have never felt pressured to work on a job or event. I have been with them for over a year now and I have learned so much. I love getting to create and design and then go onsite to see it all put together. Anything your imagination can dream up, they can do it. Most everything is done in house and is amazing. The staff are absolutely wonderful people and get along well. When there is a job to be done and you are in a time crunch, everyone will pitch in and do whatever is needed to get the job done. I can honestly say, I have never worked with such a hard working group of people and it is really nice how everyone works together so well. The creativity that flows here is nothing more than amazing.

Cons

Christmas can be somewhat hectic and tiring and at times felt a little un-organized. Management is taking big steps to rectify those issues.

Pros

There is always something different to do. It's a laid back enviorment overall, but when it comes time to work, it's time to work! There is a lot to do, and so many creative things to learn. You get to work at a lot of fun places, and be apart of creating some great designs. The more you show that you can do the more interesting tasks they will give you and allow you to be more apart of the creative process.

Cons

You have to put in weekends at least 2 times a month. They will work with you if you need time off when it is in good reason. It is hard work when it come to putting up large sets and making sure they are safe. There is a design crew and a set crew and they both do different things. The set crew, which I was on, requires some heavy lifting, late night loads of trucks, and getting up large sets. A lot of people think it's only setting flowers and lighting candles but their parties are way more than that, and that will sometimes make people upset. There are no health benefits as they are a small company, they compare themselves to a mom and pop. It's been mentioned that they were looking into it, but when I was there it was not an option.
