A company that has zero sense of its employees value and upper management is a disaster. - Management DISH Employee Review

Pros

The company will hand out titles like they're meaningless, so it's easy to get a title higher than the actual position you hold. Co-workers are generally good people who will share the same sentiment as those around them. Strong bond of co-workers feeling they're in the trenches together

Cons

The worst company I've ever worked for (and I received 4 promotions in 3 years). Dish is working very hard to hide the terrible morale within the workforce. As former management, I can honestly state that the company is trying to see how little it has to do to in order to change its image as the worst company to work for. Upper management is not equipped for the positions they hold and poor management is just transferred from one department to another. Dish believes that the title "worst company" comes from the technician and field workforce, but the corporate environment is far worse. Management (I was one of them) is consistently instructed to convince their employees how "great" of a place Dish is to work for, but is not allowed to work on a grass roots level to change the mentality and actually create a better work environment. The recruitment has turned to hiring mostly right-out-of-school in order to entice a workforce that will accept lower pay and has a lower skill set. This results in a company that is in shambles and has failed to turn itself around and provide a good work environment where the majority of the workforce doesn't leave within 1-2 years due to the poor work environment and lack of credible training. Do not work here unless you want to get stuck in a very poor corporate rhetoric work environment where your title will not dictate what you actually do, leaving you effectively worthless when it's your time to leave within 1-2 years (max). If it was a good company to work for, a majority of the workforce would not be consistently leaving. And don't get anyone who works there started on the benefits. HA! Worst benefits I've ever seen from a company of any size.

Pros

Work from home is the only pro I can think of

Cons

They don’t provide any equipment aside from the computer itself. They mislead you during the interview and job description. You are paid according to price of product sold and close rate however it’s all inbound calls and you can not call back. The inbound calls are lousy, people who don’t even have a $1 on a card in order to do the eligibility check, or no card at all.. poor credit which leads to higher out of pocket costs. I think only a handful of times I couldn’t overcome the spousal objection or the just shopping objection. Those I will take responsibility for but if I’m getting calls from people who don’t have a card or don’t have a $ or don’t have the money to put down OR already have an account or is a mis-transfer or were passed along because the technicians have to make referrals even though the customer isn’t actually interested in the product yet the tech makes them still call.. that’s crap and it’s not real sales.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective with us. Hearing about your day-to-day reality in sales—from lead quality to equipment needs—is incredibly valuable as we continuously work to refine our internal processes and onboarding experience. While we are glad you enjoyed the flexibility of working from home, it is disheartening to learn that you felt misled by our initial job description and interview process. We want to ensure our teams feel properly supported and equipped to succeed in their roles. Our People Operations team would welcome the opportunity to dive deeper into your feedback regarding our commission structures and lead generation systems. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at peopleoperations@dish.com so we can better understand your specific situation. Thank you again for your candor in this situation.
