Pros
A great team and at the beginning good prospects for personal growth together with the company. Definitely flat hierarchies until the point I'll mention below. Salary was good. Around 30% of the staff is female which is nice. Lots of international people, but sometimes very selective in their choices.
Cons
After nearly 6 months probation time (6 months in total) I have been fired. Not because of bad performance, my team and also my supervisor have been very happy with my work. The company decided to let go 20 people within the last two months because of sudden budget cuts that were not communicated at all. About two months ago they still mentioned amazing numbers and everything... Some of the people moved to Germany just for their job and lost it after 1, maybe 2 months. Also with great promises and prospects in the hiring process. Colleagues told me the company hired around 60 new people last year and there were big talks about how successful and innovative the company is (acquisition of another NL company, lots of projects), and esp. how they care for their amazing employees. Well, apparently not. Everyone in the company is scared for their future since they also fired employees that have worked there for years and actively helped the company to grow. There is no transparency at all and I would have never applied if I knew this. CEO and co. show no responsibility, there was no apology, it's just the HR team that became the scapegoat for the bad decisions the EC made. The fun thing is that all teams have to deal now with people being laid off that have specific expertise, which means that some fields have no support at all or there is no work possible since others can not access the tools/etc. Also of course no budget for externals to help with this. No idea how the company wants to progress...
