Good Entry Level Pay, Good Managers are Hard to Find - Inside Sales Representative DHL Express Employee Review

Pros

Pay and benefits are adequate to the role, especially if you're starting right out of college. Co-workers are usually friendly and helpful to one another.

Cons

- Managers play favorites, micromanage and shirk their own mistakes to those they manage (zero accountability). - They don't care about their customers, money is money and their customer experience his horrendous and very disheartening if you actually care about your book of business (even if accounting messes up their cost and they're forced to pay more than what they agreed post shipping or not caring if 20k worth of shipped goods are lost, broken or mishandled). - The odd hours based on time zones really hurts your internal clock and your social relations outside of work. (Imagine waking up at 4 am just to clock in at 6 to make warm calls...).

Pros

Great compensation, benefits, and hours. Get to know many clients and businesses on route. Lots of exercise. Lots of alone time.

Cons

For some, the alone time can be very lonely. You are in a van or truck for many hours. Podcasts, radio, hands-free: get to love it. Sometimes logistics can be unpredictable. Delays, traffic, on-call pickups. You have to be very flexible and adaptive with fairly quick critical thinking skills to excel at this job.

Pros

Get entry level sales position. The company has great benefits..

Cons

You will be calling 80-100 times per day for months until you get promoted but it’s a fairly easy job. Can just be boring.
