Pros

Internationally, DHL has great brand recognition and an excellent international network. Decent commission rates... when you can actually hit your number.

Cons

The majority of customers in the US believe DHL went out of business when domestic shipping stopped in 2006. It's not a good start to a sales call when customers thought your company went out of business. DHL cannot come close to competing with volume discounts given by UPS and FedEx due to bundling domestic and international shipping. Extremely difficult to reach the goals they set to hit your number.

Pros

Great compensation, benefits, and hours. Get to know many clients and businesses on route. Lots of exercise. Lots of alone time.

Cons

For some, the alone time can be very lonely. You are in a van or truck for many hours. Podcasts, radio, hands-free: get to love it. Sometimes logistics can be unpredictable. Delays, traffic, on-call pickups. You have to be very flexible and adaptive with fairly quick critical thinking skills to excel at this job.

Get entry level sales position. The company has great benefits..

Cons

You will be calling 80-100 times per day for months until you get promoted but it’s a fairly easy job. Can just be boring.
