Pros
Dfs has a good customer flow , they can get people through the door , some amazing people who work there within some areas of the buisness just not in HR or senior management from area manager upwards
Cons
They lie to get you do what they want , they make you work without proper overtime , they make you feel like there is nothing better out there with there brainwashing tactics, I ended up doing 6-7 days a week getting in at 7:30am and not leaving till 7:30pm some weeks , a lot of the senior management team are so distant to what actually happens in the stores , they are more bothered about the profits then customers and definitely do not care about the majority of the staff there , they let some people get away with murder but bully those who do the job well , there is not any reason why I would ever return to this company , they are just not a good employer , they push the staff to fill out the employee feedback survey in a positive light claiming it has a negative effect on wages with the shareholders if we don’t they have a pay structure designed to keep lowering the commission, they don’t look after there staff you are just a number they can replace , one of worst companies to work for mainly down to selected members of the head office team for example , a woman who’s first initial is R had a manager friend who got sacked for gross misconduct, she was only happy making those who brought allegations suffer after , never too far from drink she was always showing herself up but yet she was allowed to get away with it , I think there are so many negatives to this company , you would be mad to think there are any progression opportunities , they promise a path but it takes a lot of abuse and using you with no extra pay to get you thinking your going somewhere but they don’t even know what is going on , people a company this size should be better then it is , they don’t care about the toxic culture bubbling within the branch’s of there stores , this is an honest view of dfs the company and the people that are allowed to make every day decisions which effect the every day lives of their staff , life is for living you should work to enjoy life , not work and work for no benefits , if your face fits you may for a brief time bask in some glory but then it becomes personal and they want to take every bit of meat off the bone and throw the rest away , you are the admin , service , salesperson , part order and chaser and yet you get less then you ever have ,they are always looking for the next way to reduce the wages , won’t be long before they get rid of all the housekeepers and make the sales teams in charge of this as well , in all the years I have worked for dfs I have been gone a few months now and never been happier , I felt depressed , no one cared , I felt used they said , you do this or we will get someone else in for less money to do it , I felt used , they didn’t care , they do not care if you stay or go , and I’m glad I finally got the nerve to get out of this place I would never wish this company employ any of my family or friends there is always something better out there then this place don’t be fooled with there promises and lies , my advice to those left behind get looking , you will be happy again once you leave , they used to pay £40+ a deal now your lucky to get over £10+ a deal targets are unreasonable and designed to make increasingly unrealistic for managers to hit targets and earn bonuses, just expect the basic and nothing more a lot of the time and for managers it isn’t the best for the work load expected from you.
