Pros
- Job security is unmatched: During the economic downturn, there were no layoffs. They actually adjusted the core working hours so that all associates could retain their jobs. - Community is fantastic: The people that work there are high caliber, very caring, and very well connected to one another. It is very common to have full plant-wide participation in social activities, pot lucks, and raffles that are organized by associates for other associates involved in tragic circumstances (sudden illness, accident, etc). - Solid (not exceptional) pay and benefits packages. - Cafe, Rec Center, Softball Diamond, Basketball and Tennis Courts all available on campus. - Every year (even in economic downturn), the company finds a way to provide some type of annual gift/raise. May not be huge at times, but considering the low profit margin, it is very generous to offer whatsoever.
Cons
- Being a lean and highly competitive company in the auto industry, they will work you hard. Depending on you ability to operate in a fast-paced, challenging environment, this may affect your work/life balance. - Overall, the organization isn't very "fast and flexible" from a red tape perspective.
