Pros

I started at Decagon as an intern. They let me continue working as I completed my degree. Because they saw potential in me they didn't mind that my degree was in an unrelated field. Decagon provides the training and experiences needed to enhance your career and experiences. I've been trusted with projects that I felt unqualified for and encouraged to succeed, not set up to fail. I truly feel that I'm pushed beyond my comfort level so that I can grow and become better and more experienced. There are many changes taking place at Decagon, and I suspect there will continue to be. I view this as a very good thing that will benefit me personally. These changes mean growth for a company that has good management. It also means there is a vision for taking the company to the next level. Decagon is very financially responsible and I don't see the changes taking place as too risky or off the wall. The overall culture at Decagon creates a workplace that is comfortable and allows for free thinking. Decagon takes care of its employees and allows for the best work/life balance I have ever experienced. There is an emphasis on health and welfare that illustrates how well Decagon appreciates the happiness of its employees. An added bonus of working at Decagon is the location. The small town of Pullman, and neighbor Moscow, Idaho, is a center for outdoor activities, hard working people, youthful energy (two universities), and rural simplicity. Because of Decagon and the experiences I've been afforded and the potential for career advancement I have set roots on the Palouse. Some of the other reviewers are being fair, there are favorites. However, management favors those that work hard and align their work with the goals of the company. Decagon started as a family business, intended to support the children and grandchildren of the founders. Even though the company is growing this is still one of the main reason Decagon operates. As a privately held company I don't see anything wrong with this approach. Those that feel differently aren't a good fit for Decagon. All that being said, Decagon and its upper and middle management care a great deal about all its employees and do what they can, given the circumstances, to support and grow its employees.

Cons

Decagon has been growing for many years. They double in size about every five years. To sustain this growth changes have to take place. Change can sometimes be constant and as a company grows from operating in a garage to a rented room all the way to having its own property there are going to be pains. At the moment there aren't enough parking spaces, but even that it getting fixed.

Pros

Decagon is headed in a great direction. Using its strengths and building out capabilities in new markets will bring out a bright future. Benefits are great. Workout room (and trainer led workouts), generous insurance, great PTO, etc. Work/life balance is good. Family friendly atmosphere. It's a family business, so while there are many founding family members in upper management and other roles, I see them all as capable and competent in their job roles.

Cons

The great amount of autonomy can be hard on some employees who prefer tighter processes. Things are in flux as changes are made, but headed in a good direction.

Pros

Decagon is a company that has experienced solid growth for the past 15 years, and are poised to continue that growth. Their staff of in-house R&D scientists provide good solid direction on new product development. The development teams are cohesive and use effective collaborative tools to get things done. As others have mentioned, there's not a lot of micro-management, which can be liberating for some, but perhaps discouraging for those who like more oversight. Employees are held accountable for getting work done, however. Decagon also has some of the best benefits in the region, and the Pullman-Moscow area is a great town to live and raise a family.

Cons

It's important to remember that this is a family-owned company for the most part. The Campbell's started this company and they therefore have a vested interest in keeping the family interested in the company's future as much as possible. Some can be put off by this.
