Pros
- Lots of talented, very experience folks - No corporate BS (meetings, politics, needless middle management) - Competitive salaries/benefits - Multiple offices to work from (or remote in some cases) - Plenty of travel for many positions - Get to work on a wide variety of projects and technologies
Cons
- Definitely the biggest con is long work hours - Virtually no visibility into promotion opportunities. Senior management selects the people that they believe deserve promotions (in many cases these are definitely good choices), sometimes hiring from outside without ever announcing a new position internally. Seems this process is maturing, however, as the company is growing. - Not much opportunity to learn upon hire by shadowing more experienced folks.
