Good culture, nice building, nice supervisor

Heavy hours, low pay, non technical work

Pay was good. I lived close to the job.

The insurance was good under CyOptics, but became a joke under Avago. The manager (not my direct supervisor) in my area seemed to favor females and discipline young men a lot. The manager (not my direct supervisor) in my area allowed her friends to talk to her for multiple hours a day, but if someone that she didn't approve of spoke for 5 minutes she would get scowl as quick as day and you would know it. 2nd shift = not much of a social life The staff are very particular with who they like and who they don't as they'll snitch on coworkers, while they themselves take an extra 30 minute break. The engineers had a lot of the machines designed to do a lot of work for you. All you had to do was ensure that it wasn't messing up, which made life very boring quick. There is no moving up the management cycle per se unless you go back to school as an engineer or tech school. Each shift has it's only personality and you don't want to be on their bad sides. The longer you are there the less you do, but if you set a presidence for the amount you do every day and then slack off they'll get on you like white on rice. Do not get on the bad side of one of the bosses or it feels like hell every day.
