Terrible ethics. The business model is to cheat clients: All revenues come from outranking partner shops on Google branded searches (i.e. Zalando Coupons) and then taking a commission for bringing them the sales they would have had anyway. Or expensive onsite display placements which drive no sales and no one sees (salesmen laugh about "selling air").
Meetings are full of jokes about how dumb customers are for trusting us. Don't even think about adding value... it's a spamming and scamming business.
Nobody has passion for the product. It's coupons...
Long working hours for low salaries. Forget about getting equity.
Unknown and unrespected by other Rocket Ventures, so don't count on a later career jump into a venture you want.
Management strategy swings wildly. They fire whole teams abruptly. No effort is made to train or motivate. Extremely high churn.
HR is dishonest, they have no problem sending a job offer and retracting it before the employee starts. They prefer to hire an army of interns, pay them too little to live in Munich, trick them with long term career prospects, and get rid of them at the end of their 6 months.
Not a startup, no common mission. Full of internal divisions, departmental paranoia, and politically motivated processes.
You will never be able to tell your family and friends what you do without being embarrassed. It's coupons...
