Pros
Good work life balance at mid management level - short Friday and extra bank holiday day in August; free onsite restaurant which is good quality; friendly colleagues; nice working site in the Yorkshire countryside; very good pension and private health provision for all employees; good bonus for mid management and above when the business performs well; exec and CEO come across as human, relatable and are caring about the employees in the company.
Cons
Disorganised senior management (below exec) at sector level which leads to insecurity about job role, purpose and input; very slow decisions at senior management level and very little engagement - it’s like waiting for the smoke to rise from the Vatican sometimes; unjustified dislike of ‘process’ throughout the business means no stage gate management on any projects either new or existing development (because apparently this stifles agility) but ultimately results in lack of delivery; things are generally managed on the fly with no control over scope creep and with ill informed senior management either not empowering or not listening to subject experts; not a great deal of employee visibility from senior sector management (one webinar a quarter doesn’t really cut the mustard)
