Pros
Best mountain in Colorado if you like to ski extreme technical terrain. Most of the people you work with are cool and like to have fun at work. Plenty of beers around to sneak from the cooler when the boss isn't looking :-P
Cons
Pays crap. I was relied upon heavily to keep a high volume cafeteria operating smoothly saw no perks from all the hard work I put in and every time I was promised a raise by a supervisor they would say it got denied by upper management, pass the buck. I found it annoying that after over the seven years I worked here my responsibilities increased drastically yet my pay only minimally. Ski pass is good but if you are working full time on a day shift you barely get to use it other than 3 runs during your hour unpaid lunch break and the weekdays they would give you off if you didn't have other life things to do. Management was always trying to cut shifts during slow seasons which at cbmr is basically any week that isn't a holiday week. Company would tell you to get a second job cause that's what everyone does in CB apparently but then your running to catch the bus at the end of your first shift just to get down to town to work your next crap job where they cut your shift short, just to make rent. For a resort that charges a $100 a day to ski you think they would treat employees better. I have spoke to employees at Okemo and Sunapee and they had similar complaints. Most seasonal employees are transient and only work for a season and move on and never return so much of my time was spent every season training inexperienced kids how to cook grilled cheeses and hamburgers that we charged way to much money for. We would do over $10 grand in sales in 3 hours but I would maybe make $300 a week full time this was 2014, doubt much has changed.
