Pros
Remote work, flexible schedule, and the people (not including leadership) are great.
Cons
Oh boy, where do I begin? Well, leadership is a joke. The CEO is a slimy, smooth-talker who has no clue how to run a company. If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself working for CreateApe here's what you have to look forward to:
Each day, you'll have multiple projects to toggle between. All of which have ridiculous deadlines and expectations. You'll regularly be pulled off and put back on projects at different points in the timeline. Let's just say that project management is non-existent.
You'll be underpaid. By like, a lot. If you're based in the US you'll be classified as an independent contractor so you get no benefits and have to pay your own taxes. Yay!
Job security? What even is that? There are regular layoffs and "furloughs" because the CEO doesn't know how to handle finances.
Oh, and you thought you were the expert in UX design? No, you aren't. The *client* is. And you will accommodate their every wish. Even if it makes absolutely zero sense from a UX perspective and results in an unusable product.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. I'm pretty sure they'll be out of business in a couple of years anyway.
