Pros
Perfect for high school students/part-timers. No previous work experience required to apply. Work is very fast-paced, especially weekend night shifts when it is busiest. Weekday nights tend to be slower. Hours are very flexible, management takes your availability into mind and creates schedule a month beforehand. Team uses Homebase for scheduling (ie. requesting covers, switching shifts, changing availability, etc.) so it’s very convenient and fit for students or those with another job. Monthly tip may range anywhere between 30-100 dollars depending on how much you worked that month and how many tips the store receives that month. Also, you get one free regular ice cream with one topping per shift. Shifts range anywhere from 3 hours for new hires to 9 hours for shift leads. Paid training usually takes about 2 weeks, depending on how quickly you learn and adapt to the environment. Your first few weeks as a new hire may be 3 weekday nights for 3.5 hours each and/or a weeekend shift for about 5 hours each day. Duties as a Creamologist include POS (cashier/taking orders), flavoring, mixing, freezing, scooping, washing dishes, refilling milk & other ingredients, making back-ups for toppings/flavors, making waffles using simple machine, baking brownies, refilling nitrogen tank, opening/closing shifts, regular bathroom checks, wiping tables and work space, and more.
Cons
Starting pay for Creamologist is 10.50 dollars an hour and paycheck comes every 2 weeks Benefits: monthly tip is distributed by how many hours you worked that month and which days/shift (weekend night crew will typically get more tips than weekday morning crew).
