Pros
Over a year ago, I joined Coursedog with excitement, nerves, and a long list of things to learn. I couldn’t have predicted how impactful this chapter would be—but looking back now, I can confidently say it’s been one of the most rewarding professional experiences of my career. This growth was made possible by an incredible environment and culture: 💪🏽 Increased Encouragement: From day one, I felt supported — not just onboarded, but truly welcomed. Teammates made time to answer questions, leaders created space for growth, and feedback was always given with the intention of helping each other improve. That kind of environment makes a huge difference, and it became a catalyst for my career. 🎯 Leading by Example: What stood out most to me is how authentic our values are in practice. We don’t just talk about supporting higher education institutions — we genuinely care about helping them remove barriers for students. Between our virtual demos and proactive training material, there's a shared sense of purpose behind the work, and it shows up in our conversations, decisions, and the way we collaborate. 🚀 Empowerment to Own: Over the last year, I've seen a strong culture of ownership and trust — you’re encouraged to take the initiative and experiment. Having this autonomy and agency helped my self-confidence flourish, and allowed me to maintain my intellectual curiosity. 🌺 Gratitude: And, without a doubt, my favorite part is the gratitude shown to every member of the team. It’s woven into the culture — people acknowledge each other’s efforts, recognize hard work, and appreciate collaboration. It makes the fast-paced moments feel energizing instead of overwhelming. Most importantly, I’ve realized that growth isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being willing to learn, adapt, and consistently improve. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities this past year has brought and excited to continue being challenged, to further develop my skillset, and to see what year two holds. Here’s to continuous growth! 🚀
Cons
Of course, this year also came with its challenges—tight deadlines, unexpected obstacles, and moments of self-doubt. But each one brought valuable lessons in resilience, adaptability, and collaboration. I’ve sharpened my skills, expanded my product knowledge, and learned the importance of leaning on those around me. There were moments where priorities shifted quickly, requiring me to stay flexible and recalibrate without losing momentum. Tight timelines pushed me to become more efficient and intentional with how I approached my work, while unexpected obstacles challenged me to think critically and problem-solve in real time. In those moments of uncertainty, I learned to rely not only on my own judgment but also on the insights and support of my team. Experiencing self-doubt at times also played an important role in my growth—it encouraged me to reflect, ask better questions, and ultimately build greater confidence in my abilities. I became more comfortable navigating ambiguity, communicating proactively, and turning challenges into opportunities to improve both my process and my mindset. Through it all, I’ve developed a stronger sense of resilience and a deeper appreciation for collaboration. These experiences didn’t just help me grow professionally—they reshaped how I approach challenges, making me more adaptable, resourceful, and confident moving forward.
