Pros
The pros are dwindling, it's a steady paycheck, and the coworkers support each other. The one financial pro many held on for was stock that is now no longer an incentive.
Cons
The talent pool is hemorrhaging people are not being replaced and with COVID the world we knew that lent itself to a drive to the office has been replaced with utilizing that time just to keep up with the shortages in staff. The once diehard loyal company cheerleaders struggle to feign interest or motivation anymore. Merit increases continue to be pushed out months over several years that only lends itself to the financial bottom line but does not make the employees feel valued. The company we split from proudly advertised being a fortune 100 company as a great place to work whereas we fell into the ratings Abyss. There are some exceptional managers left but will they stay when they have their hands tied continually losing talent how can they succeed with fewer benefits to offer and little flexibility when it comes to offering the employees flexible work schedules, they can't compete. Personally, I fear a mass exodus coming soon, and it's heartbreaking.
