Pros

Is the grass greener on the other side? YES!!! Prior to coming to Cortland I worked for a very demanding company for 8 years. Needless to say I had given my all to this company and rarely received anything in return. I always asked myself if things could be better at another company but then thought that they are probably the same if not worse and to not rock the boat. Finally I got the courage to at least look at other opportunities that might be out there. I found one extremely interesting listing for a Property Manager position. The ad was not like any other I had ever seen for a job posting. It was real, raw, and to the point. I listed my resume and from there my journey began. Cortland puts such time and amazing effort into making sure they are hiring employees that have a “Think out of the box” mind set. They do not want the normal employee that like to follow the same guidelines as all other companies. They want new ideas and to make edgy decisions with hopes of an amazing outcome. But they also know that if they fail that is ok too and we move on. They empower you to make the right choices and by the leader of our property. They truly believe in creating value for residents and there staff. I couldn’t be happier with this company. I feel like I have been given back the love I have for this industry again and I am happy I found my home and family with Cortland.

Cons

Cortland is still a very young company. With that comes new experiences and you also have wins and loss. I believe Cortland is on the right track to being an industry leader. They learn from mistakes and are always looking to the future
