Pros
Copart is virtually a recession proof job, as long as people drive cars. They provide decent pay, mediocre benefits, and decent work-life balance, as overtime is strongly discouraged.
Cons
Senior management is completely out of touch with operations. They use antiquated staffing models based on an arbitrary, flat structure that does not take into account any sort of real-time statistic related to productivity. They place no faith whatsoever in middle managment to make decisions, because they do not want to risk damaging the incredibly over-inflated stock numbers. Furthermore, the sales team bends over backwards to accomodate every customer request regardless of operational feasability because they are terrified of losing an account, even if that account is costing us money. Customer service is an absolute joke, and senior management hides behind complicated legal jargon to protect themselves while telling yards to "stop hiding behind policy." Project Overdrive is the running joke between employees when more incoherent blather comes down from senior management.
