Good in theory, a nightmare reality - Production Operator CooperVision Employee Review

Pros

4 on 4 off shift pattern Decent benefits in one sense (medical insurance, access to financial advisors, company pay for sickness)

Cons

Management thinks it's not fair to single out colleagues for their behaviour. In reality, the worst employees are related to the shift manager in some way. She won't tell off her relatives / favourites, instead she berates every other member of staff for being "disrespectful", although we're not causing the behaviour she's referring to. We should "all be grateful" to have this job because of the "amazing pay" (barely above minimum wage with the incoming rise). You're expected to cut corners and ignore work procedures to increase output (leader gets bonus based on our performance), but will throw you under the bus for it. Career progression is not based on performance, rather who's bum you can lick. Bradford Factor for sickness; an ableist practise that forces people to work when they're sick, which makes everyone else sick when it's flu season.

Sales team driven. Limited career advancement opportunities. Value loud and outspoken staff than recognizing real contributors. Very white and old boys club. 100% return to office
