Pros

You will learn lots of information on healthcare insurance, Medicare and Medicaid that you will be able to utilize within the industry after you leave. Convey is supportive of continued education although no tuition assistance is given, they do promote higher education. You will receive a paycheck.

Cons

Poor management, lack of growth-both financially and developmentally. This company does not believe in pay raises unless you are being promoted from within or you quit and come back into another role. The benefits are horrible. You might as well get a contracting position that will at least pay you enough to cover your own medical benefits because by the time the insurance deductions come out of your pay, you basically are taking a pay cut. Mke sure you negotiate your salary well because chances are this is going to be your salary until you either resign or are able to obtain a change in position that pays more. Life, work balance is fair to poor. Very few holidays off with pay, and depending on your position, 2 or 3 weeks of paid time off which includes both sick time , vacation time as well as any other need for time away like doctor's appointments . If you are a sickly person or have small children, you will likely run out of PTO before the last quarter of the calendar year. If you like to plan trips at the beginning of the year, it won't happen here as there is an accrual system to obtain PTO hours. You will need to wait until you have the hours available and unlike other companies with the accrual system, you can not borrow time. No 401K match or Tuition reimbursement either. Upper management throughout the organization carry themselves as elitists which tends to result in communication barriers. I worked there for 4 years and NEVER MET THE CEO. If you do not hold a certain title, your questions or concerns will not be addressed. This behavior is counter-productive and isn't very team player-like. If you don't like to be micromanaged then this definitely is not the company for you. If you like to work independently, this company is not for you. If you are someone who looks for growth stimulation, both mentally and monetarily, this company is not for you. If you are a self thinker, this is not the company for you. The problem is management has earned their stripes based on their prior experiences and don't necessarily understand the nuances of what a front liner does within their roles. They then rely on experienced employees to take control and manage, without taking into consideration that knowledge does not equate with management abilities. You can have a wealth of information, but you still need to know how to effectively manage people. In my personal experience, I left Convey because there was poor communication within my department which impacted my ability to do my job efficiently. There was not much support when it was brought to the attention of leadership because there was obvious favoritism in the department between management and the lead person assisting the managers of the department. This lead person has extremely poor interpersonal skills, is negative in nature and is not in the least bit professional enough to tolerate her dislikes towards people enough to allow them to do their job. Ineffective management allows this individual to basically have enough power to make it impossible to get the bare necessities to do the job because of her dislikes for employees. And because upper management does not have the knowledge this individual has, they allow this poor behavior to go on. Lastly, the building was atrocious. It's basically the receiving area for the building that is shared with another company and Convey converted this warehouse into an office. Parking is horrible and when it rains, wear your rain boots because the water rises up so high, you can barely get into your vehicle without damaging your shoes.

Pros

I've had some bad jobs in the past but this has to be the best worst one. They gave me a 1-month temporary position without actually telling me when the end date was. If you asked when the last day was, you were told I don't know. Then on my last day mid-shift without any prior notice I and 20 other people were told this was our last day. Not a 1 or 2 week notice but just on the spot, you're all being let go. I knew it was a temporary position but any kind of prior notice would have been professional. What's worse is they made it sound like we will be able to stay longer just so we would stay initially. The pay was minimum wage, I was paid late each time and had more expectations than any job I've had before. Training was awful and did not prepare you for the job at all. We spent 3 weeks watching PowerPoint slides as a way of trying to understand the job instead of watching other people do the job. The only way you learned how to do the job was from QAs passive aggressive comments in our evaluations. This was humiliating and I can't even put this job on my resume. They took advantage of desperate people to put us on the job for the busiest season and then let us go even though the call volume was still high just so they could save some pennies. I wouldn't recommend this job to anyone who has any self-respect.

Cons

High stress, low pay, too many expectations, bad training, inconsiderate management
