Pay. Benefits. Some people are promoted and it’s well deserved but way overdue. Others are promoted based on how they make management feel and not on their actual work. Too cliquish. They will allow you to work and do level II or III work but refuse to promote and/or pay you for it. Many managers are clueless and are running the company they way they think it should be ran opposed to how it should be ran. You can tell the managers who care about their staff as a whole, versus those who play favoritism. Unfortunately, if you aren’t in the “in crowd”...it doesn’t matter how much you want to learn new things and grow...they will keep you where you are. HR is a joke so it’s no point of going there either. Too bad...but a pro is many people leave this job and move on to bigger/better and higher paying jobs.
