Pros
Most of remaining managers and chefs from the days of Stephen Starr ownership are extraordinary at their jobs and great team players. The concepts of those units were well thought out and executed. However, many of them seem to have jumped off the ship and swum back to that company..
Cons
The changeover to Starr Events was disorganized and poorly done. When the dust settled, many aggressive changes were made for the sake of being made, without fully understanding the consequences. Pay for managers is not commensurate with workload, responsibility or relevant experience. Training at all levels is something we talk about exhaustively but NEVER actually have the resources to do. Corporate was very aggressive about payroll and staff cuts to the point of not being able to run the unit and having good people quit because they have tons of 4 hour days and can't pay their rent. But they also asked me to explain why I'm not scheduling training?!? Overall, very unsupportive from the corporate end.
