Pros

Most of the fellow Designers and Architects are a great bunch of people. Marketing team is wonderful, IT is also very helpful, Accounts are also so lovely. Office is beautiful and good location. There is fruit in the kitchen each day.

Cons

Honestly, where do I start… Management are some of THE worst people I have ever encountered. Manipulation, gaslighting, bullying, and so much more, comes from the top. Many HR complaints have been made against specific Associates and Partners, but HR of course brush it off and tell you you’re being silly. A team run by egos rather than a proper care and consideration for human-centric design. To quote one of the Partners; “If we lose this job, it’s going to look embarrassing on Me.” You are given stools to sit on - because they look ‘simplistic’ and ‘clean’. Not comfortable, you will end up with a bad back if you don’t already have one. You are given a sit-stand-desk, if you want to break your back when you try to raise it up. The company is in a financial distress currently, not getting much work in so majority of the Senior Designers and Architects are spending their working days writing Bids. Poor time management and resourcing. Everything is expected to be done yesterday. You will be expected to work silly hours almost each day, say goodbye to your social life. The studio is 2 levels - the top level is where you want to be, as that’s where the favourites sit. In the basement, you are provided no light, and of course the only 2 microwaves in an office of 40+ employees, are located on the upper floor. Oh you would like to WFH? That’s fine, if you tell them a week in advance… oh and you can only WFH on a Wednesday or Friday…. Oh, and that is only if your Partner approves it. But… if you have kids, you can WFH whenever you want! To top it all off, the office is currently issuing redundancies to specific employees, even ones who have worked at the studio for years… you would think this raises alarm bells, but… C&P are currently hiring. They will only hire you if you’re quiet and submissive.

Pros

The team (on the lower end - designers, architects ect, - NOT MANAGEMENT) are approachable, kind, helpfull all that good stuff. If you like to socialise a bit then good if not you will basically not talk to anyone. They stock fruit. THATS IT FOR PROS

Cons

Management. every interaction is either passive aggressive, or you will be spoken to as if you are 5 years old and lesser a human (Imagine a conversation kindly telling a child throwing stones is not good - same vibes!) if you think you will pass probation, dont celebrate too early because they will flip something THEY are responsible for onto you and now your 3 months becomes 4 or 5. Whatever they say in the interview IGNORE it, its all lies. There is a clear monopoly over non partners/associates as if its 2 competing teams. as a current employee reading previous reviews on here i cant pick out a single lie, genuinely theres no exaggeration. ive seen the nicer employees get told off for things they were not told to do, and if they were informed...it needed doing 10mins ago so theres no chance of success. My advice - for any role at Conran - DONT APPLY
