Pros

There are some incredibly bright individuals who want the best for the agency and make every effort to improve things.

Cons

There is a disconnect between some heads of department and the wider staff as well as a couple of individuals that just made working there incredibly difficult and uncomfortable. The condescending and patronising attitude particularly towards women in the client / project management team caused a lot of stress, upset people and derailed accounts. Despite multiple complaints about this, as well as the lack of actual work and support coming from them due to the exceptionally important ping pong / pool games, this negative attitude is rewarded repeatedly. Some members of the paid team would ignore genuine concerns and messages altogether. Whether this is ego or general rudeness is unclear but this very much came from the top down. The treatment towards individuals with mental health issues from HR was concerning to the point where coming into the office caused anxiety and panic. Some of them spent more time partying and less time supporting.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to leave feedback. Without more information, it is difficult to comment on specific circumstances. Regarding the disconnect between heads of and the wider team, 87.2% said communication from heads of was good to excellent in our last employee survey. There are always things we can do to improve this and one of the things we have implemented is an Operational monthly meeting. The meeting passes more information down from the leadership team to Heads of and senior managers so that in turn they can communicate company-wide information better with their teams. We have also created a ‘love it’ and ‘frustrations’ part of the meeting where heads of bring in feedback from their teams so we can ensure their voices are being heard and any changes that need to be made are actioned. If you have any further ideas or suggestions of how communication can be improved, we encourage you to get in touch with Rachel Perry confidentially. Regarding misogynistic comments, anything of this nature that is raised will always be addressed. We often cannot share the resolution due to respect for everyone’s confidentiality but please rest assured they are actioned and dealt with. We acknowledge that response times on teams and email can be improved across the agency. Many of our team are often out at client meetings, events or new business pitches and replies can take longer but we have reiterated the importance of replying as promptly as possible in our last agency all in. We are concerned to hear that you were unhappy with the mental health support you received from our HR team. We have received positive feedback across the business for the wellbeing support we offer including 97.2% of people saying they feel the company supports their mental health. Without knowing more about your specific situation, it is hard for us to comment further. If there are areas we can improve, it would be really beneficial for us to have a confidential chat. Please reach out to Rachel Perry if you feel comfortable doing so – as with all discussions, your identity will be fully protected.

Pros

Only really have to go into the office once a month. You get 5 extra days of holiday as ‘wellbeing’ allowance. Good health care.

Cons

Where do I begin… It used to be a decent place to work, but over the past year or two it’s turned into a very hostile and toxic workplace, full of micromanagement, unrealistic expectations, and a company that’s losing sight on ethics and creative thinking. There’s also a massive drinking culture. Most people churn out ai slop (a lot of the managers, which is BAFFLING) which makes the workload for others who aren’t using it. Creative and critical thinking has gone. Training sessions are reruns and no new ways of thinking. Some recently promoted team members have a very toxic approach to ‘collaborating’ with other members of the team. Prepare to be micromanaged and be expected to spend all day everyday each month on accounts that should be two day retainers - the result? The rest of your work slips with it to. Unfortunately, this company fits the stereotype of having cliques, which makes it very hard to speak up or feel like you’ll find a place to fit in. 1-2-1s are very few and far between with your manager. They’re extremely overworked and don’t have time to lend support that’s really needed. We had a new head of people join the company a year ago, but we really haven’t had much support or change from them. The fun and friendly culture is just completely gone.

Pros

Used to be a bunch of really intelligent nice people here Perks such as vitality are great

Cons

If you want to pump out mediocre ai work you’re not proud of you’ll be a great fit here! Management promise ridiculous KPIs and then make you feel you’re inadequate at your job when you can’t attain them. I’m pumping out campaigns I’m really not proud of at an alarming rate as sometimes we have to turn campaign decks around in a week, which when you’ve got four other accounts, extra curricular stuff you’re expected to do and people to line manage is ridiculous. Management encourage you to mass email and spray and pray journalists which means you really hurt the relationship and your credibility as a PR, I don’t feel inspired by my manager as I feel like they encourage bad practices, we barely have 121s, and the advice I’ve been given to pass down to the team is really toxic. The team are always behind on the ‘future’ of the industry and don’t listen to you when you raise a point on this, then clamber for your advice when they see other agencies doing it. Oh and culture? When you come to interviews they’ll sell the dream but it’s dead. No one comes into the office anymore, you constantly feel like you’re under surveillance by HR, and they’ve just hired a load of robotic people that fit their ‘vision’ if you can call it that.
