Pros

Great people and satisfying incentives occasionally. The 8:45 - 5pm rule is in place and stuck too vigorously even by management.

Cons

No where to advance. VERY polictical for such a small company. School yard-esc management style with little or no real recognition for your efforts. Pay extremely bad.

Pros

Depends where you work - for short term work in databases/sales its fairly simple and straight forward, particularly for touch typers. Not one for the older generation. The only positive is - if you're on databases you will always walk out on time ... far be it from them to pay over time.

Cons

There is no communication between management and the database 'researchers'. No job security, they dont tell you anything about the projects coming in and wont commit to telling you even if there will be work for you next week. There is no job security and no progression at this place - very school yard business with the usual on top. Don't be under any illusions, this place plugs the bills in the (very) short term but it wont go anywhere. They take on projects that they definitely shouldnt and wont yield any results and you can guess who's to blame. Prehistoric and foolish methods leads to minimum output and maximum man-hours. For the cherry on top - you wont know you're leaving till your last day. They let go of a long term (14 years) worker who'd made the entire office bearable, telling her she was redundant on her last day. The same happened to a line manager 2 weeks later and then to a colleague on databases. She was short term like me but she wasnt spoken to at any point and only found out it was her last day when she saw her leaving card being signed. Even after that no manager came to actually tell her! Sums this place up - no respect for their workers, no communication and unlikely to survive more than 2 more years.
