Pros

Decent Salary. No micromanagement ( no one pays attention to what you do until a client complains )

Cons

Complete lack of accountability for staff. Staff had time to surf the internet or do personal tasks, while watching the MD do their jobs. There is no incentive for staff to improve performance as there is no bonus structure to their salaried work. They are made to take lunch hours or leave early so as not to affevct the sites overtime . The office manager ensures this happens as I believe this affects their pay. This may mean leaving a physcian alone without help . I know of not one health organization that would allow a physcian to do MA work and think they are fullfilling the terms of the physician's contract . No accountability or standard of the care for the physicians. You could not complete your charts , not document patient visits ( including reasoning for Schedule II and III drug ) without intervention . Additionally management does not ask for physician input regarding medical issues or care issues. The only information comes from the office manager , who has little to nothing to do with patient care ( and is not medically trained ) Disparate treatment by the office manager . No recognition for quality healthcare provided to clients .

Thanks for the feedback. We value and consider all feedback and we’ll continue to find ways to improve, but I would like to address a couple of your specific concerns. First, we are committed to incentivizing every staff member to provide great care, based on quality metrics and outcomes, and have had a program in place for every center colleague for many years. Secondly, the Physician, as Center Medical Director, is responsible for overseeing the medical assistants, which includes completion of monthly training modules developed by our clinical training staff and focused on patient care. The Center Medical Director attests to the completion of the required training every month. Additionally, medical assistants are provided the same treatment as all hourly colleagues and are required to take regularly scheduled breaks as required by state law. Thank you again for the feedback to help us make Concentra a better place to work and best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

I enjoyed the technical challenges working with extremely passionate and talented people. The benefits and compensation are competitive, and I had so much to offer given a little more time.

Cons

Unfortunately, it is a revolving door. Management is vastly unqualified and by title only. They had no on-boarding process and communication was extremely poor or lacking altogether. They are fire happy and terminate people like nothing without regard for tenure which almost seems deliberate. Several very experienced and tenured people were terminated the week before I was. One of which had moved to another team which created the vacancy for my position.
