Pros
My manager did a decent job of recognizing performance. I received several awards for delivering excellent support to our customer, and there was usually some performance incentive - an AMEX gift card usually.
Cons
As a contractor, you are viewed as of no more importance than say, a disk drive, and just as easily replaceable. After leaving the job and doing some research on comparable jobs/responsibilities I found that I was paid roughly 55% of the prevailing wage. Because I had not been on the job market for some time, I didn't realize this at the time, but even then I was told several times that I was lucky to be getting what I was.
