Miserable wages. Toxic work environment. Psychologically abusive managers. Poor training. Cult-like atmosphere in the WISe program. Harassment by other colleagues. I experienced bullying on a regular basis by other coworkers and my supervisor blamed me and allowed it to continue. I became so physically sick from the bullying that I had to quit. Oh, and the unions did absolutely nothing, other than to take your hard-earned money. Culture of secrecy, where you are not supposed to tell families the truth. Care coordinators who pretend to be counselors and go on power trips, causing a great deal of damage to families. Getting in trouble for following code of ethics. There is no point working here, when you can make quadruple the amount of money as an associate and pay for your own insurance if you start your own business, pay for your own supervision, or contract with someone else or an umbrella agency. Also, as the only person of color in the group, I was treated as a pariah. They talk about diversity to make themselves feel good, but no one knows how to treat people of color well at Compass Health. Being a person of color makes you a target, and your supervisors will not stand up for you, but will make your life miserable if you make any complaints. Good luck trying to take a vacation, even if you scheduled it in advance. You will be so overworked and every minute of your day, you are on call and can't just walk away from the job. Excessive amounts of needless paperwork and drama.
