Pros

Challenging environment. Opportunity for gaining certifications (medication management, certified brain injury specialist). Applying knowledge learned from undergrad (if majored in psychology).

Cons

Unprofessionalism with upper management. Toxic environment that includes gossip and nepotism. Over worked employees with no incentive aside from a small bonus of $25 for working a whole extra shift. Changing schedule with very short notice. No recognition or value of their employees and no effort to change concerns that come from their employees. Forced over-time and sometimes they will take your benefit time away if they are needing staff. They emphasize the importance of mental health but do not care about the mental health of their employees when it comes to work/life balance.

Pros

CNR trains its employees well and gives BIS latitude in decision-making. They also give employees opportunities to improve or correct mistakes.

Cons

The BIS role is constantly growing as new duties and therefore increased expectations are levied. BIS who learn how to "cut corners" are rewarded.
