Pros

Some people who work here are really well-meaning and dedicated. The benefits are OK.

Cons

They hire physicians at a high salary that cannot possible be maintained by their own compensation plan 2+ years in. There is little to no organization between the different CHI hospitals in town, they basically compete with each other. Our Department exists at Creighton as an academic department, at CHI Physician Enterprise (the physician group), and at the 2 Omaha hospitals we mainly use - and all 4 groups want something different from us. Hospital system constantly complains how little money they have despite us "doing a great job" with patient care and asking doctors to "help out with being frugal" despite admitting the problems are inflation and payer behavior which we have no control over. The culture is of a small dysfunctional community healthcare system, not the large tertiary/academic organization that CHI wants to be. CHI is part of CommonSpirit but there is zero support from national that I can detect. I would never have worked here had I known what it was like coming in.
