Pros
Entrepreneurial spirit - The LabWeek initiative, conducted twice every year allows the employees to take a full week to ideate, prototype, and present their innovative product to a crowd of industry leaders. Such open platforms which accepts and encourages the entrepreneurial spirit of employees should become an industry standard. Highly Technical mentors and Supportive Managers - There is abundance of highly technical, but down to earth humans in the organisation who are willing to go above and beyond their limits to help with any technical queries. Similar is the case with managers, most of them technically sound, who are very appreciative of their staff and always willing to back them, even if something goes way down south.
Cons
HR department can be improved - There is scope for improvement in lot of areas. One major area is hiring of new talent. There are widespread complaints about people almost exactly matching the job profile not even being shortlisted for a technical round, and many shortlisted candidates are having vastly different skill-set not suitable for the job profile. Ownership of more projects can be routed to India office - Although the quality of projects being undertaken in Indian office can be considered satisfactory, they are still heavily managed from the US offices. End-to-end ownership of projects isn't transferred, even though there are highly capable architects, managers and developers available in the Indian office. Lack of Onsite opportunities - There is currently no options of a transfer to US offices, or even a temporary onsite posting for a few months, which is very disappointing.
