Pros

The culture. I always feel like everyone wants to see the people around them succeed and tries to lift others up while also trying to become better professionals themselves. The growth. A lot of times as a franchisee Im so wrapped up in my day to day tasks that thinking about my development isn't even on my mind. When I look back at the end of a tough month or season though, I really appreciate just how much I've had to overcome and grow to make things happen in my business.

Cons

Work/Life balance. It's definitely something I learned the hard way my first year as a manager. I tried to work 60+ hour, 7 day weeks back to back and the result was me being less happy, more stressed, and less productive than if I would have just taken a day off. I definitely let this job grind me down when I first started. It takes you a while to reap the fruits of your labor. You will work hard for weeks or longer before you feel a paycheck. That can be stressful at times, but for me the big payday a that come in during the second half of summer have been enough that I was able to take a full two months off from any work to focus on school and still have some left to lease and partially furnish a new apartment.

Thanks, Chicago, for your comments! I've been in your shoes and completely understand the grind (it's very real as an entrepreneur, and can completely overtake you if you don't manage it). It's amazing that you can look back and see the development you've had, and also recognize the importance of taking some time to rest/recharge. Wishing you continued success in your business and beyond.

Pros

- Uncapped earning and personal development - Be your own boss - Insurance, branding, and direction

Cons

- This is often seen as a great opportunity during school years, but it is a large learning curve and time commitment to get the business started. Time budgets were critical for success - Often battling reviews - easily won over if you show the potential customer that they need to see and trust you as your own franchisee, not the reviews of other franchisees. - Royalty was significant early on.
