Pros

Colleagues below management level keep the boat afloat.

Cons

If you are director level or below. You are expected to do the job of management. If you stick to your job, you are fired. You constantly are told you must do the work of the person above you or you will be terminated. Executives are chosen purely by friendships. Management, especially VPs, pass blame for their errors on non-managers. All my coaching and support the short time I’ve been here have been from someone below. Feedback is usually met with backlash. Pay is not competitive as promised. If I stayed, I would end up 20% below similar people. Right now, I’m breaking even.

Employee experience can vary significantly depending on team and leadership Communication and decision-making are not always transparent Expectations can sometimes be unclear or shift without enough context Change management could be stronger
