Pros
If your prime focus in life is employment, they will employ you. Most co-workers are amicable. "Free" (does not, technically, cost you out-of-pocket, though your acceptance of the meal is considered as license to keep you in the office longer and longer) food available after-hours. Paychecks are usually available for pick-up on-time (no direct deposit, last I checked).
Cons
As a former employee, it is my duty to offer the following advice to any considering this company. If your prime focus in life is employment, I would step back and re-evaluate your life's purpose. Go out and find a good career with growth opportunities. If you are truly set on considering Coastal Management Resources, consider these thoughts: Coastal Management Resources is a life-sucking establishment with an incredibly dismal outlook. Their resource access is quite incredible, actually; however, the operation is designed to fail with the current leadership and strategic trajectory. "Spinning Wheels" is an optimistic way to describe the work productivity. The culture is, at best, caustic -- more aptly, hostile. The work schedule is quite awkward: 10am - 10pm on most days. Employees are "expected" (not commanded) to live in or around Lake Arrowhead ("up-the-hill"). Your work exposure will be quite mundane and heavily micromanaged and criticized. The environment is not set-up to encourage employee development -- in all seriousness, there are no training opportunities because there are no senior, highly skilled personnel in position to develop. The company is very isolated as are its workers. Transparency is non-existent. If this review sounds like it may be "extreme", be assured that 90% of my peers would agree with this summary in whole. The interactions with management are borderline abusive, and the company's business practices toe the line of ethics. This truly is a high-risk, high-demand, dead-end opportunity. As mentioned, they will employ you if you have any sort of MS Excel, "numbers" experience, but buyer beware. As I was told when on-site for an interview (by a high-ranking employee): "RUN!!!"
