Pros

- *most* of the team are nice - *most* of the team are inclusive - *most* of the team were forgiving when mistakes were made - *most* of the team were approachable and good to talk to

Cons

- ridiculous amount of work to do in one shift. You'd be running around doing 5 things at once and get nothing done. - most shifts it was just me and one other colleague for most, if not all, of the shift. We had deliveries (some 5 cages big - 1 cage = 2 trollies), tills to manage and online orders to do, as well as taking customer queries and restocking/ redressing the store. Most of the time when I was picking the online orders, I was called straight back to the tills to serve customers and it made it almost impossible to do the order. I'd be serving customers ans Just Eat drivers in paticular would arrive way before I finished the order (Just Eat app was always glitches where we would get the order 5 minutes later than the customer placed it). Most of the drivers would get annoyed, leave and send someone else, meaning the produce was left out for 10 - 20 minutes at a time.

Thanks for taking the time to share your review. We’re pleased to hear that many of your interactions with colleagues felt positive, being welcoming, supportive and easy to talk to is an important part of how we work in our stores. Our Customer Team Members play a hands‑on role right across the shop, from serving customers to handling deliveries and supporting online orders. The pace can vary from day to day, and the mix of tasks is a standard part of the role. We recognise that people experience this differently, and we always encourage colleagues to raise any concerns during their time with us so they can be looked at directly. Online orders, including those through Just Eat, follow the timings and processes set by the platforms. When something doesn’t run as expected, the right route is for colleagues to flag it through their usual store channels so it can be reviewed. Your reflections on behaviours and inclusivity matter. Everyone should feel respected and able to contribute, and we rely on colleagues to speak up in the moment or use our reporting routes if something isn’t right. Thank you again for sharing your perspective, and we wish you well in whatever you choose to do next.

Pros

Team got on well, hours weren't particularly harsh (pay not particularly impressive either)

Cons

Overworked due to corporate ruthlessly cutting hours (while hiring more staff?), generally piling on more and more work to the store team without considering time constraints, absolutely no opportunity for advancement while a store manager is already there
