Unstable house of cards run by horrible, unethical management - Developer ClutchAnalytics Employee Review

Pros

You'll one day get to no longer work there. You'll get a lot of work done, because you'll have to redo it four or five times due to changes requirements, so you're going to get REALLY GREAT at knowing which questions to ask at your future job interviews so you avoid such environments in the future.

Cons

Read through the other reviews and you'll notice a recurring theme: management. They are truly incapable of listening to anyone beyond their own echo chambers of executives, who all assure themselves that they are absolutely correct in all their decisions. Management walks in every. single. day. stomping his feet on the ground, dragging them across the entire office, making a huge show of how much he dislikes his job (and wants you to know it). He sits down at his desk, which he insists be in the middle of the office. He doesn't do this to foster any kind of team atmosphere or "I'm right there with you guys" mentality. He does it because he wants you to know just how angry and upset he is all the time. You hear him sighing constantly, cussing people out on the phone, frowning incessantly. He insinuates himself into team conversations numerous times a day, and then offers a loud opinion without even understanding the context. This is usually includes cuss words and insults. If you ever disagree with him, he throws a fit, and will remember it forever. It doesn't even have to be a disagreement! If you ask for clarification he gets angry. Think about that: you can't even ask questions about your work because this is seen as - for some ridiculous reason - your attempt to not do the work. So why does Clutch's Management act like this? Because this is how the management from Windhaven - their parent company - is. You'll quickly see that the Windhaven management is everything wrong with the tech sector - rude, screams all the time, is never happy, blames everyone, etc. They are the type that thought this entire venture was going to be something that would make them a ton of money in a few months, but never bothered to actually think the plan through. So they never happy either. They literally throws things in the office and slams doors. Their actions have directly cost the company money, which has led to decreased benefits for everyone. Without fail, for the last few years, someone gets black listed. I don't know when or how it happens, but it's clear there's a target. Clutch's management will yell at them frequently, demote them, remove tasks from their daily duties, and insult them openly. They'll call meetings to insult them in private. They does this until the employee quits. Then the process starts over with someone new. I watched incredibly talented individuals walk out the door (or be led out the door) for years in this pattern. There's a clear, targeted attempt to get people to quit, and it becomes relentless once someone has been chosen. You just can't do worse than this place. The quick and dirty: -Bad compensation -Terrible benefits -Absolutely zero recognition for a good job, just always told that your work is unsatisfactory -Bonuses that never come, or are diminished by the time they do -Sense of foreboding unease because no one likes working there -A total lack of commitment to their core values -Forcing extra hours -Interoffice drama has exploded recently and is actively kept alive by management - they actively pit people against each other Could go on, but why. It's a miserable mire of a place.

Pros

Top notch equipment - When I first started I received a 2014 MBP and I was soon upgraded to the new 2015 MBP. Everyone has dual Thunderbolt displays and motorized standing desks. Snacks on snacks (like Kind bars and K-Cups). Work/life balance is great, most days I would work 9-5. Occasionally might have to stay late to fix a bug, but that's the nature of the industry. Everyone I worked with was smart, motivated, and laid back. Great office culture. Jorge is the man. He's a great leader and the best boss I've ever worked for. I think that his leadership really makes Clutch great - he will do his very best to make sure we have everything to get the job done. If anyone needs any hardware/software/books he will go out and get them personally. He's open to new ideas and technologies, and he's not afraid to jump into the code and work on a problem with you. Overall just a great guy.

Cons

The office is starting to get cramped (a good problem to have) but I think Clutch is moving offices shortly. Also the amount of PTO could be increased, although I never had a problem getting off when I needed to.
