Pros

Very chill. The job is what you would expect it to be, but you generally get a very quiet day to yourself doing pretty simple admin work. I never met anyone who wasn’t kind. You can take free classes, even during your shift if you have work done and there are open spaces. If you want to start teacher training, they help cover cost quite a bit, while receiving a lot of guidance from current instructors. Healthcare and dental options are also impressive.

Cons

Usually, you will work at different locations. Not all studios adhere to policies exactly the same. Managers are often fairly young, coming directly from sales positions up, so conflicting practices are generally handled a bit immaturely and inconsistently. There’s a likely chance of quick, upward mobility, but this also results in management teams that do not have extensive experience in leadership roles. You receive a set schedule and you are essentially put on that schedule until further notice- meaning you can’t exactly request time off since you are already scheduled. You are expected to get everything covered even if you are sick. Calling off with sick hours is… indirectly discouraged. There’s generally only a few SA’s at one studio, so it’s difficult to get things covered anyways. Not all managers are helpful with that. You do receive a small amount of commission off your membership sales, but managers have personal membership sales quotas, so they will try to take on a lot of it. Often on their time off or away from the studio. The system is implied a bit different during the hiring process.

Pros

Great work life balance, manager is very flexible, you earn commissions on sales.

Cons

Lots of random check ins from Regional management which focuses on silly things like if the front door mat is vacuumed multiple times a day and such.
