Pros

* You’ll get a lot of responsibility and ownership. * Pace of learning is high and company has solid approach to product management: staying close to the customer, thinking from first principles, always asking “why." PMs are expected to push each others’ thinking. * If they like you, you can get promoted quickly. * You can ship products very very fast (they'll expect you to)

Cons

Most other aspects about this company are negative: * Long hours. Expect to consistently pull 70+ hr weeks in a fully remote setting. * No clear exit path. Revenue growth has been basically flat for past 3 years. TAM of core market (agency nursing) is shrinking and co is struggling to find new verticals that have escape velocity. * Inexperienced management with minimal HR function. The 2 co-CEOs are married. * No job security. If they notice you let up, they will fire you with little warning. I’d estimate they fire around 2-4 PMs each quarter, out of a product team of ~40. This includes both new and tenured PMs, with some folks getting fired who were at the co for nearly 2 years. A job offer at this co is tantamount to an invitation to continue interviewing with them, every day. * You’re graded on the “inputs not the outcomes." Eg if you launch a feature that has great revenue impact but they think your "inputs" were bad (you moved too slowly, your writing was unclear), you’ll be punished rather than rewarded. * Comp is okay but not great You’ll learn a lot here, but you’ll pay dearly for those learnings. I’d strongly caution folks considering PMing at Clipboard, especially early-career PMs, to search elsewhere.
