Pros

They are an established business.

Cons

Leadership is disconnected from both employees and day-to-day business operations. Decisions are often made without sufficient understanding of how they affect employees, morale, or operational effectiveness. During my tenure, the HR department expanded significantly while employees were told there was limited budget available for raises and benefits, including significant reductions to vacation time. The CHRO is unethical and greatly contributes to the toxic work environment. Communication and accountability are ongoing challenges. Important concerns are not always addressed, and employees may feel discouraged from providing candid feedback or identifying problems. In my experience, reporting misconduct or raising concerns resulted in negative consequences rather than constructive resolution. The organization tends to rely heavily on external consultants while often overlooking the expertise and recommendations of internal employees who understand the business and its challenges firsthand. There appears to be resistance to change, and efforts to improve processes or introduce new ideas are frequently met with indifference. Management effectiveness varies significantly. In one instance, I had a direct supervisor who did not communicate with me for over a year, making it difficult to receive guidance, feedback, or support.

Pros

There are a few great people who work at CB

Cons

- Compensation is well below local and national average for majority of roles. - Some of the worst benefits I’ve ever seen at a company. They try to sell profit sharing but it’s only been paid out once in 10 years. Almost no PTO, opportunity for growth, or transparency - Least diverse company I have ever worked for. 95% of leadership and workforce are white men except Payroll and HR - Horrible nepotism and one of the most political organizations I’ve ever worked for - The company has no structured or strategic hiring and does not value it’s employees at all - Still operates like it is 2005 with their systems. Still transitioning to the cloud and doesn’t use automation or AI to help with anything - Dishonest leadership with little direction or thought on growth - Dysfunctional leadership that has no transparency - Does not value it’s employees - “Good old boys club” - Very little company wide policies on hybrid or remote work, all depends on your manager or how they are feeling
