Senior Leadership is a disaster. Middle managers are lifers that have never worked anywhere else and have little experience growing a business and developing people.
They don't value training and learning.
The new CEO had a company meeting touting trust and respect and how much they value the people, and the next day did layoffs. They had an opportunity to be open and honest and prepare folks for hard times. They passed on having the hard conversation and would rather spew sunshine and rainbows and tell self-congratulatory stories.
They did layoffs at the end of the month so insurance expired almost immediately, with insulting severance for people that had dedicated years of their time and talents to the company.
They create confusing commission structures for sales and adjust them constantly to make their numbers look better and cheat people out of commission.
