Pros
A few genuinely good colleagues who made day-to-day work manageable. The technical stack is typical and you can get exposure to standard e-commerce development work.
Cons
In my experience, the main issue in this role was the leadership style and the culture it created. Communication from management often felt overly critical, controlling, and lacking in empathy, which contributed to a consistently tense and uncomfortable working environment.
There was limited openness to discussion or feedback, and decisions were typically made in a top-down manner. Over time, this created a culture where people were less likely to speak up or challenge anything, which negatively impacted collaboration and morale.
The overall environment felt unstable at times, with a noticeable level of staff turnover during my time there. While turnover can happen in any company, in this case it added to the sense that the culture was not particularly sustainable long term.
In my personal experience, the working environment had a significant negative impact on my wellbeing, and leaving the role ultimately felt like a relief.
While there are good people in the company, I would strongly advise caution. The leadership style and resulting culture made this a difficult environment to work in, and not one I would recommend without significant change.
