Pros
*Large number of Career Opportunities in different Business Units, Locations, etc. *Large # of Opportunities to switch positions or divisions within the company but you need to network and word hard like any other job hunting *Strong benefits package *Competitive salaries but they will never pay you the top top dollar *Gave big bonuses when the company had a big year even while other Blue Chip Tech companies like Google were laying people off or asking people to take salary reductions *Strong Senior Leadership & Strategy. *Continually entering new markets and finding ways to make more money. The company is growing despite being so large. *Work Life Balance is Great, but I've heard different things in different groups. *Lots of smart talented people *Opportunity to telecommute or work remote but usually needs to be negotiated up front *Some decent perks but seem to be mainly only for SJ campus
Cons
*Bell Curve Ranking of Top 10%, 25%, Middle, Bottom 10% often ends up ranking good people bad. BUT, they have made recent changes to minimize this *Due to the Bell of the Top 25%, you could be a great employee (26th best out of 100 for example) and have a hard time getting a promotion or salary increase *Matrixed organization often finds multiple people doing same job or similar things, Hard to completely own something on your own *Great senior leadership doesn't always cascade down to your VP, Director, or Manager. A substantial # of Mgmt doesn't follow the same culture and objectives as the senior team *Culture & Expectations can vary from organization to organization or from team to team. You really can't use one experience (even a positive one) to be indicative of another. *Competitive salaries but they will never pay you the top top dollar. *Not going to make it rich off any Stock Options in the short term *Could be more "fun" *No Free employee shuttle or sponsored shuttle from Fun San Francisco to Boring San Jose like most big tech companies in the Bay Area provide *Acquired companies often don't get the same perks/advantages as those already fully integrated
