Pros
Cisco offers strong career progression for those who fit the traditional mould. There are talented, kind colleagues across the business and opportunities to work on genuinely impactful global projects. Flexible working policies and employee resource groups are a positive step, and on the surface, the company promotes diversity and inclusion.
Cons
If you develop or disclose a hidden disability, the culture changes quickly. While inclusion is widely spoken about, the reality is that understanding and support for employees with non-visible disabilities is limited and inconsistent. Processes for reasonable adjustments can take months, and often you are quietly sidelined rather than supported. It’s extremely disheartening to give years of loyalty and then feel like you no longer belong because of a condition beyond your control.
