Pros

None! Nothing good to say about this company, except for a few friendly places in the Bangalore office. The management in the Singapore office - the worst people you can come across in your life!

Cons

A 6-year-old company, still behaving like just started yesterday. No proper clients, no proper funding. Highly muddled up organization, which has absolutely business clarity or process structure. They are superbly confused as to what their core competency even is. They provide you with an enormous list of famous clients, none of which exist today! A horrible product which is way too over-priced. Incompetent sales team who are always busy doing client demos, but I see no new clients! The amateur senior management treating their employees as if they aren't even human. No benefits, no PF, no insurance coverage, no wfh options available. My advice to prospective employees: Please do a thorough research on the organization before joining in/ applying. Do not fall prey to some of the fake positive reviews you will find here. The hiring manager will not give you a clear picture of what's going on with the company at the time of the interviews. They will sugar-coat everything which will make you believe that you are going to be part of a great organization, which sadly is nowhere close to being true.

Circus Social Response

Thanks for taking the time out to write a long, albeit brutal, review about Circus Social. I have read the review in detail several times, reflected on it and am providing my response below. ***A 6-year-old company, still behaving like just started yesterday. *** You probably meant this in a negative way. However, We do take pride in feeling like a vibrant startup irrespective of the fact that we are now 6 years old. We are agile, feel like a family and believing in doing whatever it takes to get the job done. We also empower our employees to take ownership of their work and outcomes. Some of our employees have been with us for 3-6 years and this shows that they are happy to be here. *** No proper clients, no proper funding. *** If you have worked for Circus Social, you know that we already work with mid to large size enterprises and agencies. We also have plans to start working with Startups and SMEs soon. I will not comment on the funding bit publicly due to confidentiality reasons. *** Highly muddled up organization, which has absolutely business clarity or process structure. They are superbly confused as to what their core competency even is. *** This is not true. We are very clear about our business, our core competencies and where we are heading. Happy to discuss this with you if you reach out to me. *** They provide you with an enormous list of famous clients, none of which exist today! *** We have worked with several Fortune 500 companies, some of the largest marketing / PR / Ad agencies in the world and also Governments of Singapore and a few other countries. We continue to work with our clients in multiple countries. *** A horrible product which is way too over-priced. Incompetent sales team who are always busy doing client demos, but I see no new clients! *** We will reflect on the pricing. Thank you for the feedback. We have ways to obtain product feedback and will continue to improve where we can. We also have a very aggressive roadmap of new features we intend to build. The sales team is supposed to be busy in sales pitches and they are definitely doing a good job in winning new clients. *** The amateur senior management treating their employees as if they aren't even human. No benefits, no PF, no insurance coverage, no wfh options available. *** I’d like to believe that the senior management is far from amateur. The CEO has over 20 years of international experience working in UK, India and Singapore. The COO also has a wealth of experience in multiple countries. Considering that several employees have been around for a long time, the point about not treating them like human seems like a rant from a disgruntled (ex) employee. We highlight employee benefits clearly in the offer letter and honour them. We will reflect further on this. Please do reach out to me if you would like to discuss. *** My advice to prospective employees: Please do a thorough research on the organization before joining in/ applying. Do not fall prey to some of the fake positive reviews you will find here. The hiring manager will not give you a clear picture of what's going on with the company at the time of the interviews. They will sugar-coat everything which will make you believe that you are going to be part of a great organization, which sadly is nowhere close to being true. *** We believe in being honest during the interview process. Rarely have we come across somebody who joined with false expectations that we had set. We encourage our employees to be part of the interviewing process and present a fair picture of what it is like working at Circus Social. We encourage potential candidates to speak to current employees in an informal environment to get a fair idea of what it is like working at Circus Social. Advice to potential candidates - If you are looking to work with Circus Social, please feel free to connect with any employee to get an objective assessment of their experience. You can drop by our offices in Singapore or Bangalore as well. We are growing / expanding our teams and we are actively hiring at the moment for multiple roles. Please do check our LinkedIn Page for active roles. *** Poor managers making poor decisions! Treat your employees well and respect them for what they do. Don't set unrealistic deadlines. Remember that you aren't the ones doing the heavy-lifting. Stop acting like God. Build your product well. Its way below standards and remember that there are a lot of SaaS tools in the market and you don't even come close. My dear Circus (it's a Circus indeed), you guys won't even exist a couple of years down the line, if you don't work on the above-mentioned points. *** Some of this seems to be rant and some of this is useful advice. We will reflect on the useful bit.

Cons

Please don't work for this company under any circumstances. The CEO "RAM BHAMIDI" is a toxic, narcissistic bully who creates a hostile work environment. He will constantly micro-manage and criticize employees and has a temper tantrum if things don't go his way. He is very cheap and will do anything to save a buck; it doesn't matter if it's for a client or an employee. I worked for almost two years, and it was the worst decision of my life. I was stressed with no job security. He only takes investor money for his salary and makes a fool of freshers career who has never worked anywhere and makes a fool of a few Asian clients. I was finally forced to quit for my mental health. I would never recommend anyone.
