Pros
I can tell the leadership wants to do the right thing. They just have no way of solving the problems at the Child School.
Cons
The child school is one of the saddest cases of a special needs school I've ever seen. The school had some sort of financial issue occur in the 2000's I believe. Because of this they decided to open the doors to essentially any and all students that would go there. I will tell you now, if you think you've dealt with difficult students or humans for that matter, you have not. I repeat, you have not. The odd thing about the child school is there are a handful of children that are sweet, but a very large number of them are border line. And when I say border line I mean that in every sense. I've watched students smear themselves in fecal matter and lock themselves in rooms. Knives have been brought into the building, repeatedly, for weeks, and months - despite the administration and staff knowing. You may be asking, how on earth does something like this happen. Well let me list the ingredients required for this powder keg of a situation. The child school is massively in debt and can't afford to close down for too long. If they do, they'll have to shudder their doors forever. Because of this, they're much much more scared of litigation than a normal school. This means parents who have completely lost control of their kids send them to the Child School. This also means the school has absolutely no recourse against them. Many of the worst children will simply age out, and will cause insane levels of turnover to occur. And that is the last and possibly one of the most important ingredients in this situation. Noone sticks around. The few who have, have found a tiny niche for themselves they've holed up in, or have been driven truly mad. Everyone leaves, and because of this there is no continuity, there is no way to solve the problems that are being dealt with at the school. So in summation, I say run for the hills. Unless you are a sadist and enjoy the thought of looking like you're 70 before you turn 35.
